Yue SHENVisiting Professor

Research focus on the development of DNA synthesis enabling technologies and instrument, Synthetic genomics and its downstream applications, and DNA based data storage.

Yue Shen received her PhD of Molecular Biology from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She is currently the Principle Scientist of Synthetic Biology in BGI-Research, PI of Shenzhen Synthetic Biology Innovation Institute, Deputy Director of Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Genome Read and Write, and visiting research fellow of Center for Synthetic Genomics at SIAT, CAS.

In the past few years, she has published more than 20 papers in prestigious journals including Science, Genome Research and part of these research achievements were awarded as one of the Top Ten Scientific Advances of China of 2017 and the top prize of the 2019 Tianjin Science and Technology Awards of natural science. She is one of the key members in synthetic yeast consortium (Sc2.0). She was awarded as the Shenzhen National Leading Talents and the top young talents in Science and Technology Innovation of Guangdong special support program.
